New to Shooting Come and Try
It is the association’s objective to promote our sport and one of the ways we achieve this is by welcoming beginners and members of the public who would like to try clay target shooting.
Whether you are licensed or unlicensed, no experience at clay target shooting is necessary.
Please note that visitors who wish to come in a group of more than 4 will need to notify us beforehand so that we can prepare. As safety is our priority, those new to shooting will be under supervision at all times and of course, will be given instruction by a responsible club member.

The club sets aside two Sundays every month, normally the second and fourth Sundays as well as Wednesday mornings at 8.30 am (excluding December).

what you need to know and bring for your visit
- Visitors / participants must be 11 years or older and those visitors who want to come to watch must sign the visitors book but don't need to fill out the form 33 mentioned below.
- Unlicensed participants must complete form 33 available at the club or please click on this link so you may complete the form prior to your arrival as this will save time.
- You must have photo ID such as a driver's licence or passport. No photo ID no shoot
- You must wear enclosed footwear and bring a hat and no singlets or camouflage clothing please.
- As part of the cost you will be provided with ear and eye protection (your prescription glasses or sun glasses that you may need are acceptable).
What To Expect.
EFTPOS is available at the club.
As a visitor to the club you will be able to shoot 25 clay targets and the range fee and 25 shot shells will be included in the price which will be quoted via contact us or by calling at the range on the open days.
You can hire a shotgun at the club the use of which will be supervised by an appropriate club member with a fire arms licence.
You may come to the range as many times as you wish and you will not need to complete form 33 again but you must sign the 33a register.

Below are just some of the benefits you will experience from participation in our sport.
- At North Arm we have a beautiful location with a wooded hillside and outstanding views.
- Shooting takes place outside and entails walking particularly for our sporting clays courses.
It is good exercise and if you complete 2 to 3 rounds you will cover a distance of between 1 to 1.5 kms - It a social sport and entails shooting with a likeminded mixed groups of people. The interaction is stimulating and fun.
- It will improve your concentration.
- It will improve your reflexes.
- It will improve you hand eye coordination.
- It is a sport unlike many others that you can participate in later life and some of our members practice and compete in their 80s and beyond.
- It caters for mixed abilities and there is a comprehensive grading system which if you decide to compete, you will do so against other shooters of similar abilities.
- If you have problem with your mobility we have vehicles that can transport you to the various locations of the stands that you shoot from.
- You don't have to compete you may just want to attend practice days that are relaxed and just have a great time.
- If you are a new shooter and once you join our club and you have gained your weapons licence and become a member of the SSAA or the ACTA you will be able to travel and participate at many other clubs both in Queensland and other states in Australia and abroad and will always be sure of a welcome from other shooters.
Joining and Members
What you need to Join
The membership application form can be down loaded from here and is available at the club house. If you fill out the form from the website you Must bring it to the club as a posted application will not be accepted. You will need to pay the amount detailed below you can pay via EFTPOS which is available at the club.
The Cost
Adult $15 joining fee payed once $85 membership payed annually.
Juniors $15 joining fee payed once together a once only payment of $35 up until the age of 16 years.
All members of the club must also be a member of The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Qld. This is principally for the reason of insurance both for the individual and for our Association but there are many other benefits for members of The SSAA Qld
Please note, once juniors have joined they will be able to shoot practice rounds free up to the age of 16. This does not include ammunition or
apply to competitions.
In competition were there are less than 5 contestants ladies and juniors may shoot to their handicap with other members.

Pension card holders are entitled to a $5.00 discount for competition nominations.
Volunteer
As members know the club is run by volunteers and at the time of writing there are only 5 committee members. Although a number of members help out we still need more participation and in particular committee members who are willing to contribute by under taking projects or sharing in tasks.

The Club Will Hold 3 Trophy Shoots for 5 Stand During 2020 (See Shoot Calendar) Handicaps Will Be Calculated on The First 50 Targets.
Corporate Days Out
North Arm Shotgun Association is delighted to welcome small corporate groups with prior notice. Whether you are licensed or unlicensed, no experience at clay target shooting is necessary.

What you need to know
Shooting is a new experience removed from the norm. It is particularly appropriate for entertaining customers or staff of your organisation.
It is an excellent team building exercise for your employees
It is an unusual thing to try for groups that have other interests i.e Fitness, Soccer, Football, Motor sport etc.
After a great morning shooting with your group why not have lunch at the restaurants and pubs that nearby Yandina has to offer.
The club can accommodate up to 10 new shooters as mentioned above. For this number there will need to be a month's notice or more. For lesser numbers perhaps less time may be needed. if you have a larger group it might be an idea to split them between two dates or you might like to talk to us about this.

The Cost
Per person is just $60, for this the club provides each person the use of a club gun, 25 cartridges, 25 targets, hearing and eye protection, (your prescription glasses and sun glass are acceptable) instructions and supervision by a responsible club member.
Should any member of your party decide they would like to shoot more targets the cost is $25 for 25 targets and 25 cartridges.
The cost per person as stated above is $50 and if required we can supply morning tea/coffee at no charge.
